must see... Take your time: Olafur Eliasson

from my point of view, this exhibition is easily now in my top 5 from the MCA. i dare anyone not to enjoy and exhibition as experiential as this. your relationship to each work and the sensory experience that is created by the interaction has to make an impact on even the most hardened soul. for those who wear their 'inner child' close to the surface, like me, you can't help but have fun. i can't tell if it's some of the smoothest curation i've ever seen, or the artists vision is simply so complete across numerous projects that it hums all on it's own. serious art that doesn't insist on being taken to seriously. loved it.

i like what is happening with new york based artist aakash nihalani. love the pulic tape pieces. the statement page has a fun little bit of programming. found thanks to aesthetic outburst.

last day of hols

it was hot, 39 degrees with 95% humidity. all you had to do to perspire was blink. we hit the beach for some sweet relief and watched the change roll in. this was the view from our last swim at putty beach, before the thunder and rain began.

something to see

this is an outside shot of an installation, intervention at the Art Gallery of NSW. War and peace and in between by artist Tatzu Nishi. Spaces are constructed around 'classical' sculptures that have graced the entry of the Gallery for many years. Messes with the way you look at the familiar and the world - always a good idea... get the old brain working. I wont show you the internal, the photos don't do justice to the scale of things - must see in person.

quote of the day

Plants grow in silence but we (in the art world) vegetate noisily.
